The bat is a weak flying monster commonly found in the early levels of the dungeon. Bats will not pursue the player. It is common to use a wand to take down a bat, but this is mistake as wands will be important in the lower levels. Another reason for this is that bats may easily dodge the bolts fired from the wand.
